In the Reading Room…

The room with our bookshelves, dubbed the ‘Reading Room’ – contained several Hello Kitty-esque items.

This is my HK lantern. I got it from a Convenience Store (Konbini) on a trip to Japan. I think it was a Lawson’s. I love Japanese Konbini’s. They stock the most awesome stuff, and the food is better then you get in a lot of so called restaurants in Perth.

When you turn it on it lights up (duh!) but it also changes colours, from yellow to red to green.

A Hello Kitty folding fan. I think this is from Gion in Kyoto. amazingly handy in hot weather.

Now, these next few photo’s are some of my favourite’s. On our most recent trip to Japan, in Asakusa, Tokyo near the famous Senso-Ji Temple, they were selling HELLO KITTY MONEY! Awesome! You could buy these ultra-kawaii coins, and at certain shops around Asakusa you could actually use them as money. Thing is, I wanted to keep them, so there was no way I was going to use them 🙂

HK Coin packets

These are the packets the coins came in. And here are the coins –

Our ragdoll cat Yuki has a love-hate relationship with my HK bean bag. She likes to jump on it, but then noise and movement of the beans kind of freak her out and she goes totally spaz. It’s pretty funny.

This was when we first got her – she was tiny. Not so tiny now though.
