Dinner #131: 8/12/2012

This evening we went out to a festival type thing in Leederville. Something to do with them turning on some Christmas lights, or something. Our good friend, Chad was playing a set there as his swamp -rock-circuit bent madness that is The Gizzards so we thought we’d go heckle him.
The festival turned out to be better than we expected, and we ended up hanging around for quite a while. We had originally planned to head home for dinner at some stage, but gave in to the wafting aroma of food in the air and decided to get some food there.
We decided on getting a sausage in a bun from Snags n Sons. They had $4 ones, but sadly ran out by the time we tried to buy one. So we went inside and ordered from their proper menu. All three of us (me, Steve and Chad) opted for the bratwurst with green tomatoes and pickled cabbage. Then we heard they had run out of bread rolls, and were instead serving the sausages in tortilla wrap toe things. I was momentarily concerned, but then was too hungry at this stage to change my mind. My fears were short lived however, as the the wrap worked really well and it was super tasty (and not as heavy as a bread roll (which I shouldn’t be eating anyway) so, yeah, once again I was pleasantly surprised and the food was tasty.

From earlier in the evening, here’s The Gizzards terrifying the passers by (and entertaining some of them too)
