Sentosa fun times

We got up a bit later today – mainly because it always seems to be party time out in Little India and we can hear the doof doof doof doing from somewhere and into our hotel room. We have yet to pin point exactly where the “music” is coming from but it usually stops are 3am. So that’s nice.

Anyway, we had breakfast in our room and then we decided to go down to the pool for a bit which was lovely but it’s strangely cold in the water. After our swim it was already close to lunch time, so we decided to go to 28 Cafe for lunch before heading out for the afternoon.

Steve had fish and chips, because, well, why not.

Then we headed off bound for Henderson Waves at Mount Faber. Henderson Waves is actually a bridge connecting a couple of parks. We had to catch a bus there which is always a bit of fun.

We got to our stop and immediately had to ascend a step set of stairs. Normally, not really a problem, but in this humidity our legs felt like stone as we made our way to the top.

The bridge was cool though, with nice views. We walked as far as we could one way, before construction made us turn back. We were absolutely drenched in sweat. But the forest is really cool, though we didn’t see any monkeys or any other wild life.

Once back over the bridge we explored Mt Faber park and walked to top of Mt Faber. Again, nice views, but so sweaty!

We continued on before making it to the cable car station for the cable cars that take you over to Sentosa Island. We weren’t convinced about going over to Sentosa and the cable cars weren’t the cheapest, but…special Pokémon theming pushed us over the edge.

We got the Eevee cabin. It was super cute and the trip over to Sentosa was actually really cool.

Once we got to Sentosa we headed straight for coffee at Baristart. Iced coffee is the preferred option here.

Feeling rejuvenated, we went for a bit of a wander around, looked at the beach that kind of thing. We even found some Giants sculptures!

We went over a wobbly bridge to the southern most point of Continental Asia.

Then we had the best idea ever – which was to buy some beers and enjoy them on the beach. Winning.

We stayed until it got dark and it was actually really lovely and changed our mind totally about Sentosa. We even decided we might go back tomorrow. For now though, it was back on to the Cable Car to the mainland as we had some Hello Kitty illuminations to see.

We got the pikachu cable car on the way back!

Then it was on to Vivo City shopping centre where as part of the mid Autumn festivities they had some Hello Kitty illuminations on the roof top. They were super cute, and yes I may have had to teach a child or two about lining up.

We met these lovely people who had a Ragdoll kitten. It was so cute and they even let me hold it. They had only just adopted it, but have never had a cat before. The lady was translating for her mum who wanted to know if they had to “shower it”.

We managed to get a quick (and late) dinner in at Vivo City Food Republic (Vietnamese Pho and Banh Mi) before catching the MRT back to our hotel. Ended up being a very busy day!
