We took a drive to Vermont today after breakfast. It’s not very far – the state border is about 10 minutes at most. For some reason I wanted to go to the town of Brattleboro- not sure why – which was about an hour away. But one of my big missions was to buy some Vermont maple syrup.

On the way we stopped at the small town of Wilmington- it was a cute little town. We looked in a few shops and yes, I bought some maple syrup. Also some hot sauce. It’s difficult because I can’t buy too much as I have to lug it all home, so I only bought a small jug. But they had such a big range of syrup – I wanted it all!

Then we headed off towards Brattleboro. It was a nice drive through lush green trees and swirly roads. When we got to Brattleboro though, it was a bit of a bust. We decided not to stay and instead headed over to Bennington, Vermont to meet up with Piper and Brett for lunch at the Blue Benn Diner. We visited here in 2019 and really enjoyed it, so a repeat visit was in order.

I got the blueberry pancakes with maple syrup. Delicious! Steve got a burrito I think.
It’s a cute little place with little jukeboxes on each table.

We headed back to Tourists after lunch and hung out by the pool. We had planned to go check out the Clark Museum (which is free after 5pm on Wednesdays) but we were enjoying our time by the pool so much we decided to just stay and chill there.

We got some dinner from the Stop n Shop across the street and ate it on the porch of our room. I was feeling a bit unwell for some reason, so I ended up chilling on the day bed and listening to Tourists radio for the rest of the evening whilst Steve hung out with Piper and Brett.
