Adios Barcelona

We had to leave Barcelona today. We didn’t really want to. We have become quite fond of this city. But leave we must, Madrid is calling and our train is waiting.

Off to the train station to get on the high speed train to Madrid. The train was great and fast – it was moving at over 300km per hour at some points.

We were in the first class section of the train because we are fancy. They served us lunch like we were on a plane. It was about plane quality too – fine but not amazing.

Once we got into Madrid we taxi’ed to our hotel. A small budget hotel near tonight’s venue. We are only here for one night so don’t need anything fancy.

Went to a nearby place called Honest Greens for an early dinner and some much needed vegetables. One can not survive on jamon alone.

A brief stop off at Aldi for some supplies where we saw these large legs of jamon. (Did not buy)

Back to the hotel the hotel briefly before heading off to tonight’s venue. It was about a 15 minute walk from our hotel.

Here we go again

Had some drinks and a very delicious hot dog.

Found Piper and Brett

And then….its Wilco! Another amazing 2 hour show from them. They must’ve been so freaking hot up there. Remember, this is me saying it’s hot, so it must be hot.

Wilco are the best, what else can I say?

After the show we slowly wandered back to our hotel and on the way we bumped in to some Australian’s (who live in Spain) – an ex Perth-ie and an ex Melbourne-tie. We had a good chat and laugh and they recommended some cool places to check out in Madrid.

Good times all round.
