A Sunset

Well..a quick jaunt to the Eastern States was in order for us as our second most favourite band, Pulp were touring and yes of course were not coming to Perth. We nearly decided not to go, because well, we have kind of run out of money, but how could I ever live with myself knowing that Pulp were in our country and I didn’t go see them? Also, any excuse for a holiday.

Went to work in the morning and then caught a flight to Adelaide in the afternoon. Never been to Adelaide before so new territories to explore.

Flight was decent – and short, one of the shortest flights we have ever taken. We met some people we knew from Perth who were also headed to Adelaide to see Pulp.

Approaching Adelaide

We landed safely in Adelaide, grabbed our luggage and caught a taxi to our hotel. It was quite late by this stage – maybe around 11pm? We just wanted to check in and go to sleep, ready for our big day of Pulp tomorrow.

When we got to our room – we noticed the room was literally vibrating from the loud sound of an air conditioning unit just outside. It was loud. There is no way this wasn’t going to drive us insane. Steve went down to reception to see what they could do. I stayed in the room trying to convince myself that maybe it wasn’t so bad. This hotel wasn’t cheap btw.

After what seemed like forever, Steve returned and said we could change rooms – but would probably have to change again in the morning. I mean, phew, we don’t have to stay in this hell hole, but like WTF? The reception said to Steve that others have complained about this room before – so, uh maybe, just maybe this shouldn’t be a room that you offer to guests? We booked it ages ago also so it’s not really good enough. But, whatev’s. We packed up our stuff and headed to our new room which was much quieter and promptly went to sleep hoping that this wasn’t setting the precedent for our time in Adelaide.
