Bit of a slow start today in Adelaide. Tired from all our partying yesterday. The rain that was threatening to ruin last nights show arrived today.
We headed to the Central Markets for coffee and a croissant for breakfast. There were guys playing piano accordions. I really like this market.

We wandered around the markets a bit then bought some museli and yogurt for tomorrow’s breakfast – tomorrow being a Sunday and the markets are not open on Sunday.
We dropped this stuff back at the hotel before going back to the markets for lunch. We had a slice of pizza – this was not any normal best no, it was PICKLE CRUST STUFFED PIZZA. Yeh you better believe it – and it was delicious.

Then we decided to have another coffee because well there was good coffee there and we have learnt the hard way that you drink good coffee when it is available to you.

After much pondering over what to do for the afternoon, we decided to catch the train out to the coast to Glenelg. It was still really rainy so it was a good way to see some sights and stay dry.
The tram trip took about half an hour and then we saw a Ferris wheel.

We walked out on the pier

Then we went on in to the Tourism Bureau where George (or was it Jeff) told us repeatedly that we needed to be driving to Melbourne and visiting the Barossa Valley even though we said we didn’t drink wine and we only had 1 night left in Adelaide and had to be in Melbourne for a concert in a day…no, he did not want to hear these things…
We eventually managed to escape from him and went upstairs to see a small exhibition featuring old Adelaide things and an ear piercingly loud screaming child. Well the screaming child wasn’t part of the exhibition.

After this we got back on the tram to the city. On the tram trip we got to enjoy the banter of a group of middle aged teachers from Adelaide who seemingly had never caught the tram before.
Back in the city we checked out Rundle Mall, because, well we kind of had to. We found a few interesting shops.

We wandered up to the Fringe Festival gardens. We were planning on meeting up with our friend Danni from Perth, who now lives in Melbourne, and was just by chance in Adelaide this weekend.
It was still raining quite a bit, but we found a Coopers bar and stopped in for a drink. It was delicious Coopers.

Then we bumped in to our new friends Ravi and Jill – so we chatted to them for a bit and then we ended up meeting Danni there too. We started to get hungry so we went over to the other festival gardens to looks for something to eat. Ended up getting hot dogs and chips.

After dinner we went back and had another Coopers beer (well I did – those guys had cider)

We didn’t go to any Fringe shows – though Steve wanted to go to this Japanese Magic Show

We went for a wander around down to the river where Steve insisted people were on a travelator on the bridge (they weren’t)

Danni had to catch a bus back to her accommodation so we walked her to the bus stop – except we could find the bus stop. Google kept telling us we had passed it. We eventually figured out it was up on the overpass, duh!
With Danni safely on her bus, we continued our wander around the streets of Adelaide. The rain had finally eased and it ended up being quite a pleasant night.
We considered going to see the Darkness who were playing at a venue we walked past, but instead went to have ice cream.

Found the ice cream shop just before closing.

Had another walk around the festival gardens because why not?

We walked over 25,000 steps today.
