I tried to make Gozleme today but the forces were against me from the start. After visiting 3 shops in search of lamb mince, I gave up and got beef. So they are Moroccan Beef rather than Moroccan Lamb. That’s ok, I can live with that. After eating far too much bread and bread type products over the last few weeks, I thought I’d be good and make the dough gluten free. Well, not such a great idea as the dough didn’t really work and thus the Gozleme’s didn’t turn out as they should.
Actually, they don’t look too bad. Let’s hope they taste ok!
Post dinner update: they tasted ok. The filling (mince and silver beet and cheese mostly) was tasty, but the dough was a bit too doughy and gluten free tasting. I can’t really explain what I mean by that, but if you’ve ever eaten gluten free flour I think you know the taste that I mean. All in all, not a complete fail, but not as good as I had imagined. (Note to self: give up on trying to substitute gluten free flour for real flour. It just doesn’t work. Just have to not eat stuff that requires flour)
Oh, and it’s a day late, but I made the matcha Icecream I was meant to make yesterday, today.
