We headed off to Arashiyama on New Years Day. It started off as quite a sunny day, but much to our surprise, by mid morning it was snowing. Quite heavily. We had to seek refuge from the snow and decided we had to revisit the tofu restaurant that we went to on our last trip. It was as delicious as we remembered.

It snowed for the next few days. We’d never seen snow in Kyoto before. Apparently it was the most snow they had seen for 60 years!
