I was pretty successful with my tofu I made last week, so I thought I’d have another go at it. This time I set out to make a softer type tofu.
Boiling the blended soy beans to make soy milk. Then you strain it. This is the soy bean dregs post strainage. It’s called okara. This will feature later in this post.
Then more simmering, straining and moulding.
Unfortunately, my tofu was a bit too soft and it kind of fell apart. It still tasted good though!
For dinner, I used the okara to stir fry some veges with. It turned out delicious! I also made onigiri penguins and pandas – which were almost too cute to eat! And of course some tofu.
Panda having a soy sauce bath whilst the last remaing onigiri look on in terror because they know they are next 😀
