Blog alert! This is not a post about food!!!
Last week at work we celebrated Book Week. Every year it seems to come up so quickly and I’m always unprepared and have to fashion a costume out of a Miffy tshirt and a Dr Seuss backpack (luckily for me I own both of these things).
But not this year!
I spent the last school holidays trying to fend off a flu that I had already had for 2 weeks prior to the holidays (working with children, I spend most of my year sick) that, coupled with the fact that it rained for all but two days of the holidays, I decided that it was the perfect opportunity to make a costume for book week.
Max from Where the Wild Things Are was a costume I’d always wanted to make, and so that it what I did. I needed quite a bit of fleece material to make the white onesie (and it was more expensive than I’d hoped), so instead, I bought two cheap fleece throw rugs from IKEA ($6 each) and made it from that.
I was really happy with how it turned out!
