We left Setoda today bound for the next island over – Omishima.
Breakfast at our hotel – Suminoe Ryokan was a bit weird this morning – first they thought our beakfast was 8am not 7:30am as planned, then they thought we had fish allergies so we didn’t get any fish with our meal.
Anyhow, after checking out we went for a coffee next door at Soil and sat there for quite a while.

After coffee we went for a walk up the shopping street but everything was closed. You can never quite be sure when things around here will be open or not.
We decided to ride up to nearby-ish Dulce to get a morning tea icecream.

After icecream we decided we should probably start heading to our next destination.
It was REALLY hot and humid today, and we were drenched in sweat as we rode.
We made it to a cafe called Country Life which was kind of on the middle of nowhere – but it was so damn cute and the food and coffee we excellent. We had an omelette sandwich and honestly it truly was the most delicious thing ever.

Then we rode on to our accommodation for the night and honestly my legs have given up at this stage – so many hills! I ended up walking a few times.
The last hill up to the accommodation was insane, but luckily the place was super nice as was the owner.
After checking in we went for a walk around the area – and it started raining which was actually quite nice. We found and amazing Shinto Temple as well as some very old trees – like 3000 years old. We also had a lovely chat to a mum and son from Hawaii whilst waiting for the rain to ease.

Stopped in at Lawson for something. Can’t remember what.

We had Wild Boar curry for dinner that night cooked by the owner of the place and it was insanely delicious.

After dinner we sat outside and chatted to a guy from Germany who has been travelling for a year and is continuing travel for at least another year.

Oh this place looks beautiful! That tree is so cool.
