Yesterday…what happened yesterday…?

Well we got up and had our last breakfast at Untitled. Sad to be leaving but excited to head on to North Adams.

Hope to be back in 2028.

We packed up all our stuff – don’t know why we have so much freaking luggage, but we do – then caught an Uber to the car rental place in Hoboken, New Jersey. We did this last time and it worked well, because really, who wants to drive out of Manhattan? Not us!

Luckily this time we knew how to get in to the car rental place. Last time we must’ve walked three laps around the place before figuring out how to get in. Just walk down the driveway people!

Car successfully acquired and quite reaquaintance with driving on the other side and we were off in to the streets of Jersey.

Highway sights

It’s a bit hairy getting on to the New Jersey turnpike but overall not too bad. I don’t think we even missed any exits. Maybe one?

After about 2 hours we got to the town of Catskill which is where we were stopping for lunch. Yes we did stop here last time, but how can you not stop in a town called Catskill? Bonus points is that it has lots of cat things in it.

We had our famous “trunk lunch” – with some random things we had packed – Grillos Pickles, mozzarella and some croissants we grabbed at Untitled before we left.

After lunch we headed off in search of coffee and cats.

And then it was back on the road again. We have to get on to North Adams and it was still about an hour 1/2 to go.

Made it to Massachusetts!
Yes! We made it!

We are getting in to North Adams a day early this trip. Last time we just felt a bit too rushed.

We went to check in to our hotel – we are staying one night at Porches right near Mass Moca. Turns out all of Wilco and crew and other Solid Sound bands and families are all staying here. So there’s that.

We wasted no time and got in to the pool.

It was a bit cold though.

Time was marching on and we had plans to meet up with our Florida friends at Tourists to see some bands. We needed dinner so we got Burgers at this place outside of Mass Moca. They took about 45 minutes to serve our burgers.

Then we headed over to Tourists and met up with our friends which was really cool and so awesome to see them again!

Liam Kazar and Finom played and it was a lovely evening all round.

Specially made “Koozie’s” aka stubby holders

Steve has been working diligently over the last little while making Solid Sound Wilco collector cards – because that’s just the sort of thing he does. Tonight was their debut. We have them out to our friends and then we (well mostly our friend Piper) gave them out to as many Wilco members or associated people that we could.

A fun night was had by all.

***Heads Up**** there will probably be no blog updates over the next 3 days or so. Internet connection is slow and look, I’m just gonna be too busy watching bands. See you on the other side!
