Dusty Granola

Breakfast in our dorm room. Now we are really living. We actually love staying at the dorms and pretending we are American college students ha ha

Ready for another day

We headed on out in to the warm Berkshire morning. It was going to be a hot one today. When we made it Mass Moca the line to get in was ginormous! So we went and had a coffee at nearby Steeple City Social instead.

View from cafe window

Coffee finished we headed back down to Mass Moca and magically the line and disappeared so we walked right in.

After yesterday’s food debacle, we decided to waste no time and went straight to the Broccoli Bar to get some lunch. Steve gave the Broccoli Bar guy some Wilcards too because they feature in them.

It was really tasty! So much food though!

Dumplings, curry, tempura and more

We had a bit of a quieter schedule today – first band we checked out was Souled American, but it was sooooooo hot in the sun so we went and had a beer instead.

Souled American

Our first must see for the day was mini Mekons and they did not disappoint. Although it was crazy hot in the sun we stuck it out because they were just awesome.

After Mekons I went and had another beer because well, why not. Steve was feeling a bit unwell today unfortunately- probably due to extreme heat and 2 days of festival food but he soldiered on.

After my beer I watched Elizabeth Moen. Very much enjoyed her set.

And then it was time to go get a spot to see Scott the Hoople again. We got a spot right at the front because we are big nerds. Scott was meant to play at 6:30pm but they were set up early so they ended up playing early and played a much longer set.

After they finished we walked off but then walked back past and Scott was standing around on his own so we stopped and gave him another pack of Wilcards and had a chat to him about all the things. I wish had’ve gotten a photo of him with the cards but alas, I didn’t. So it goes.

However our friend Piper did get some cards to John Hodgeman AND a photo. Good work Piper!

Pizza for dinner. It was good pizza.

Meanwhile world record yo yo attempts were made (successfully), other bands played, comedy happened and all sorts of other things – too many things happening – can’t see and do them all.

The Breeders played on the main stage before Wilco. We watched them a bit.

Wilco picks!

The days at Solid Sound go by so quickly and it was already time to go and secure a place for tonight’s Wilco set.

Wilco did not disappoint. They started out with Mikael coming out on to stage with Bob James (see yesterday’s post for more info on Bob ) and played the theme from Taxi. That was really special.

Then the rest of Wilco came out and played a killer set – a real mix of tunes. Some rarely heard tracks as well as the usual favourites. They were sounding so, so good! It was one of the best Wilco shows I’ve seen. And I’ve seen a few.

Natalie Merchant popped up to join them for a song (You and I)
Elizabeth Moen joining Wilco
Ex Wilco member Leroy joined in for one song

They played for over 2 hours. Great stuff.

After Wilco, Steve had a brief hacky sack with some random guys.

Then we all had a dance to Sylvan Esso until our feet could take no more.

Good night North Adams.

This weekend is going by waaayyy too fast!
