Weekend Schweinsbraten

It’s cold back in Perth. I miss the Singapore warmth. I decided to make Schweinsbraten on Saturday. The pork I used this time was pork shoulder but with the bone in. For future reference, I think it works better with boneless pork shoulder.

I also made a kraut salat, green beans and potato knoedel. Unfortunately, I was slightly distracted by an episode of Castle that was on TV whilst I was making the knoedel and I don’t think I made them as well as I normally do. Also, I accidentally put too much flour in the gravy (I blame Castle again) and thus made it too thick and floury. That’ll teach me for trying to watch TV and cook.

We had the leftovers on Sunday night. I crisped up the crackling under the grill.
