Seafood delights

Today we met up with Steve’s brother Mike, his wife Taryn (who I have been friends with since I was 5) and their two girls.

Oh, but first, breakfast at the Dormy Inn buffet.

We spent the morning wandering around the Peace Park, then stopped for lunch at an onigiri cafe. I had the Lunch set – it consisted of two onigiri of my choice (I chose Ikura and tempura ebi), miso soup, Karaage chicken and pickles.

Then we went off to explore Hiroshima castle. It’s a pretty cool castle. Not the original, but still pretty cool.

We all had a bit of a rest at our hotels in the arvo, then it starting pouring with rain. Perfect cafe weather, so Steve and I went and had a coffee and cake at cute cafe & shop that I saw the other day. I was just going to have coffee, but couldn’t resist the cake. So delicious!

Then we met up with everyone again and went for dinner at the grill your own seafood place that Steve and I really like. We ordered a bunch of random things – crumbed oysters, scallops, bacon, cabbage salad, potato salad, etc etc All really delicious!
