Sorry for out of order blog. This is actually yesterday’s blog – 11th April. 

Yes, it was my birthday today. I wanted to go to Miyajima for my birthday, but I was still feeling a bit rubbish from the cold that’s been hanging around me. 

So first up I had breakfast at our hotel.

  
Then we decided to visited Saijo a small sake brewing town about 35 minutes from Hiroshima. We stopped for early lunch at Saijo train station at a bakery.

   
 
Had a bit of a wander around the town, but it was cold and I wasn’t feeling great, so we headed back in to Hiroshima. We did a bit of shopping in my favourite shop Loft, then had a snack of onigiri and tempura fishes in Sogo department store.

   
 
Then we headed back to the hotel for a bit of a rest. But I was determined to have cake, because, it was my birthday after all. So we picked up two small cakes from Sogo Department store and ate them back at the hotel with a coffee. I love the way department stores wrap up cakes so meticulously. They even pack little ice packs in the boxes.

   
   
For dinner, we went to this seafood restaurant where you can grill your own seafood. We went twice last time we were in Hiroshima. Love it. Even though I was still feeling a little crook I really enjoyed it. The scallops were amazing.

   
    
    
    
 
On the way back to the hotel we stopped at Taito Station and I played a drumming game which was fun.

  
Started off as a bit of a lame birthday, but ended up good in the end!
