We went out for breakfast this morning. I know, right? To the cafe we had lunch in yesterday. I wanted an egg for breakfast!

After breakfast we bought some pastries for snacking on later and went down to look at the pond/lake/body of water. We saw lots of ducks, geese and huge white swans.

We walked around the pond/lake/body of water and got take away coffees from Kaktus cafe and had them with our earlier purchased pastries. I had a jam donut and Steve had a crème brûlée donut. Good, but very sweet. I always forget I don’t really like sweet food all that much until I am eating it.

We saw a new cat.

We walked around some parts of Reykjavik that we hadn’t been to before and some that we had. And then, suddenly – our whole Reykavik mission had been completed – we spotted Volvo the cat! We have been looking for him since we got in and had all but given up hope and then suddenly there he was sitting around like a loaf waiting for some shrimp to eat. Oh he is so cute!

We kind of needed some lunch so we went and looked at Posthus which is kind of a fancy foodhall. We ended up getting some sushi which was pretty good.

A bit more walking around – popped in to Harpa where we saw Wilco play 3 years ago.

Today was our last day in Reykjavik so had to spend some time packing this afternoon which is not very exciting at all but was very necessary.
For dinner we were just going to get a lamb roll from the food truck because they are so delicious but the weather was cold and raining and standing around in the freezing cold eating dinner didn’t sound too appealing to me. We walked past a seafood restaurant calllwd Mar and decided to go there instead. Good decision (although at triple the price) Food was excellent- we had Artic Char and Wolf Fish Cheeks. Really good. And we spoke to a lovely couple next to us from Florida who had just got in to Reykavik and were heading off on a cruise

Saw another cat and also went to say bye to Ofelia the Ragdoll.

Then we decided that we really had to go back to 12 Tonar for one last beer and rummage through the records.

And just like that our Iceland adventure was (pretty much) over. Tomorrow we head on to Malmo, Sweden (with a bit of Copenhagen thrown in for good measure)
We will definitely miss this country even though it can be unbearably cold at times.
