It’s Time to Leave….Iceland!

Well yes, it had to happen. Our time in this amazing country has come to an end. Probably for the best really as our bank balance is running low and one more meal here may render us bankrupt. It’s worth it though.

We had to get up early and drive to the airport – it’s about a 45 minute drive. It was pretty drizzly and rainy today so we couldn’t see any last mountains and there were no horses or sheep in the paddocks. I’m gonna miss those guys.

Dropped off car, checked in to flight, boarded flight, nothing really to report there.

It was only like a 3 hour flight to Copenhagen.

Boarding
That’s Norway down there

Got to Copenhagen and we were starving! We saw these hotdogs and couldn’t resist. Omg they were so damn good! We scarfed them down then went to collect our bags.

Then we went to catch our train to Malmo, Sweden. The best thing ever – a train from Copenhagen airport that takes you to Sweden. It’s only about a 25 minute trip. Although today, the train was delayed and we ended up waiting for nearly an hour to get on the train.

On the train to Malmo

Found hotel, checked in. We stayed at this hotel 3 years ago. It’s an old chocolate factory. Dropped our stuff off and went for a quick scout about town. We sort of needed dinner as we had eaten random things at random points during the day.

The streets of Malmo

We ended up buying an assortment of foodstuffs from a supermarket- including delicious (and very affordable) French Brie and a tub of tiny shrimp. We ate dinner back at our hotel at about 9:30pm.

Goodnight. We shall see more things tomorrow.
