It was Steve’s birthday today. We went out for dinner at a new (ish) place called Side Door BBQ. I’ve been watching it being built for over a year, and have been eagerly awaiting it’s opening. It’s been open a few weeks now, and we finally got to go there tonight.
Petecand Nicole joined us for the evening. First up though, myself, Steve and Pete had drinks at Beaufort Local. I like it little outdoor bar they have.
We decided fruity cocktails were in order. Pete had some sort of Aperol Spritz. Steve and I had a rum and grapefruit concoction. It was presented very fancilly.
Then we made the most of their $5 pints of Tiger beer.
At 7pm we headed over to Side Door Bbq. We ordered some drinks and a huge platter of meat. Brisket, pulled pork, ribs, etc etc the platter also came with coleslaw, cornbread, white bread, corn and jalapeño poppers.
I had a Moose Drool beer from Montana. Everyone else had wine. When the platter arrived, it was huuuuge. I didn’t think we would be able to eat it all.
But man, it was sooooo good. We ate and ate and ate. Did I mention how good it was? So good.
And then, before we knew it, it was all gone.
We were all very full, but we had to squeeze in dessert. Well, Steve had Peach Cobbler and Pete had Pecan Pie and we all tried a bit of each. Delicious also.
Thanks for the amazingly delicious food Side Door BBQ. We will be back very soon.
