Side Door BBQ with fam

If we can cast our minds back to Easter (yes, I know it feels like an eternity ago) you may remember that we had some visitors from Sydney, in the form of Steve’s brother Mike and his wife (and my childhood friend) Taryn and their two kids. On their last night we took them to Side Door BBQ in Highgate for dinner. The food was exceptional, as always, if you like meat that is. We got a sharing platter for 4 which includes pulled pork, pork ribs, beef ribs, pork belly, chicken wings, brisket, cornbread, coleslaw and more. My only slight disappointment was that it wasn’t accompanied by the sliced white bread like it normally is as they had run out. I know it’s only bread, but it goes so well with it! I had a delicious beer with my meal.

The girls had sparkling grape spiders. They tasted like Hubba Bubba bubblegum.

Steve had alcoholic lemonade (house made)

We ate a lot.

But somehow seemed to squeeze in dessert. I had cherry pie.

And a good time was had by all.
