“You’re Crushing Our Legs!!”

Time to leave Tourists and indeed the US today. Kinda sad about that. We had breakfast and coffee, packed up, hung out on the deck a bit, said goodbye to new friends and headed off.

Piper and Brett were leaving today too – coincidentally from Boston airport also, so we arranged to meet in the small town of Turners Falls for lunch.

It was going to be very hot today.

We met Piper and Brett at Monague Books and Cafe – about an hour or so out of North Adams. It’s a super cool place by a river. Multiple levels of books and a cute cafe. We had toasted sandwiches and cold brew coffee. We sweated a lot while we ate. It was really hot. good food though.

After a look around the bookshop and a wander by the river, it was time to say our goodbyes to Piper and Brett. Until we meet again in some other random part of the world watching a Wilco show, it’s been so great to see them and hang out. Miss you already!

Then we drove on to Boston airport – we left plenty of time because traffic can be congested. We got in around 5pm, dropped off our trusty rental car, caught the shuttle bus to the airport and lined up to check in to our flight to Iceland.

Once that was all done, we decided we needed dinner as we wouldn’t be getting any food on our over night flight.

We thought Lobster rolls were definitely what we needed and we went to Legal Seafoods to get some. Steve convinced me to get the 1/2 pound lobster roll but oh boy it was waaaayyyyy too much food and I couldn’t eat it all, but you can’t waste lobster, right? So I tried to eat as much as possible. They were pretty good but a bit too mayonnaise-y. Not really what you need before a flight.

Tasty but too much

Then before we knew it, it was time to board our flight.

It was an overnight flight and we were set to arrive in Keflavik very early (plus time difference) and it’s only a 4 1/2 hour flight so we were desperate to sleep as much as possible.

Steve reclined his chair and went to sleep. I waited a bit, looking out the window as we flew over Maine. Then the person in front of me reclined their seat, I decided it was time to recline mine. Suddenly the man behind Steve – not me – starts yelling “you’re crushing our legs!!” WTF?!? I said sorry but then we just ignored him because what else could we do ? The person behind me was only about the size of me so I don’t see how I was crushing anybody’s legs. Freaks.

Anyway, we went to sleep and when we woke up we were landing in Iceland where new adventures await us.
