We were heading further along the south coast today BUT I realised we had missed one very important stop – Dyrholaey. Another good puffin viewing spot. It was only about 10 minutes back along the ring road so we decided to just go.
And guess what? It was worth it because we saw more puffins! Omg they are so cute. When they come in to land it’s like they have never landed before. They don’t look real!

We saw so many flying around up at the top car park and at the lower car park we saw some up close! We also saw lots of dumbass tourists stepping over the barriers and risking slipping over cliffs to their death just so they could get a slightly closer pic of a puffin.

Besides puffins our main goal for today was Langoustine rolls at Diamond Beach. Still about a 2 hour drive away. Must not stop at any other sites….but there are waterfalls everywhere you look.
Also, old American school buses serving good coffee.

Must get to Langoustine rolls. It’s after 2pm we need lunch.
Suddenly, this

Jokulsarlon glacier. Wow. Luckily this is also where the langoustine rolls were located.

We wandered around for ages – so amazing.

Also had to go see Diamond Beach. There are icebergs on the beach. Not many because it’s summer but there were still some.

We had hot chocolate too.

We eventually left and went to check in to our accommodation for the night. We saw sheep. There are sheep everywhere. They are so cute. The baby ones are quite rotund and I just want to pick one up and tuck it under my arm and run with it like a football.
After we checked in, we went to the nearby town, Hofn for dinner. We went to a restaurant called Pakhaus that was way better than it really needs to be. I ate all the lobster. Steve ate duck and pork. Omg it was all so,so good.

The dessert! Crème brûlée BUT it had liquorice at the bottom! So good!

After dinner we drove back to the glaciers because, well we could because it never gets dark here. Crazy.

We saw this guy (below) flying a drone right in front of the sign that says no drones. We told him to stop. It was upsetting the birds. Jerk.

It’s so beautiful here. Photos really can’t capture it.
