Rain was forecast today. But then it said it wasn’t going to rain. But who knows, right?

We couldn’t decide what to do but eventually decided to take our bikes over to Copenhagen and ride around the Lakes area, get a coffee, do some shopping, whatever really.

Got to Copenhagen. Rode up to the Lakes area. Decided we needed a coffee so found a cute cafe nearby and headed in. We might have had pastries too. I couldn’t really leave this town without trying one of the Cardamon buns that seem so popular around here.

We sat there for a while – then looked up and it was bucketing down with rain! Oh no! We were kind of not near anything so our only option was to sit it out.

Luckily it was quite cosy and chilled in there and nobody minded that we were sitting there for an hour or more. Eventually the rained eased so we decided to move on. We stole some paper towels from the bathroom to wipe down our bikes and rode in the drizzly rain along the side of the lakes.

Unfortunately my dreams of riding on the swan boats came to abrupt end when they seemed to be closed due to the rain or some other reason that we don’t know.

We found a shop called Flan which was really cool – had lots of cute local designer things and 2nd hand records – oh dear, we found another record to buy. Nick Lowe’s Labor of Lust. And it was at a bargain basement price. They were also a cafe and although we didn’t strictly need another coffee, we couldn’t resist.

The rain had mostly gone away by now and we kind of needed lunch – as I previously mentioned, Smorrebrod is the only acceptable lunch here. (Note: this is not actually true, but how can one resist such deliciousness)

We rode over to Broens Street food market and sat on the edge of the pier and had a beer. It was actually a bit hot sitting in the sun, but we are trying to soak in all the vitamin D before we head home.

We needed dinner by now, but I wasn’t particularly hungry. We got burgers at Gasoline grill, they were fine, but it wasn’t really what I wanted. Bit too greasy.

Then we tried to get home to Malmo but got a bit lost on the way to Copenhagen station so it took longer than expected so we ended up getting back to Malmo quite late.

No early breakfast for us tomorrow!
